ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúH purpose

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúH serves the Seventh-day Adventist Church in its mission "to make man whole" physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. The global purpose of the organization is to continue Christ's healing and teaching ministry. This is accomplished through education of healthcare professionals, scholars, and scientists, through delivery of healthcare, and through research.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúH history

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú was created on March 27, 1997, when the constituency of Adventist Health System, Loma Linda met and voted to change its name to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Adventist Health Sciences Center.

The constituency also voted to change the bylaws making ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúAHSC (pronounced "lew-ask") the corporate member for ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, as well as ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Medical Center. On March 30, 1997, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú constituency met to change the bylaws of the University to reflect the new corporate membership relationship with ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúAHSC
